Juti-making is a centuries-old craft of Rajasthan. In the lanes of Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bikaner, artisan families have passed down the art of hand-stitching footwear for over ten generations.
What a pair goes through
Six steps, in the order they happen in a family workshop.
Cut and stitched by hand in a family workshop, one pair at a time.
Vegetable-tanned leather, silk, velvet and jute, sourced from Rajasthan.
Zardozi gold thread is embroidered by hand, stitch by stitch.
Mirror work and pearl detailing are set by hand.
Every pair is finished, checked and packed in the workshop that made it.
Made in Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bikaner by artisan families.
